Overview
According to this particular call for applications, Clinical Research is defined as carrying out studies involving individuals who suffer from communication disorders or using data or tissues collected from such individuals. This research could be varied, ranging from studying the causes, progression, physiological changes, diagnosis, treatment, management, or even tracking the spread (epidemiology) of diseases or disorders affecting human communication. This could include conditions affecting hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech, or language.
While the grant application encourages proposing a clinical trial as part of your research, it does not mandate it. Thus, submitting a clinical trial is optional. This flexibility opens up avenues for other forms of relevant research that may contribute unique insights into the field of communication disorders.
