Making Health Care Safer in Ambulatory Care Settings and Long-term Care Facilities (R18)

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) offers the Making Health Care Safer in Ambulatory Care Settings and Long-term Care Facilities (R18) grant. AHRQ's main objective is to improve the safety and quality of health care, making it more accessible, equitable, and affordable. They work alongside the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as well as other partners, to ensure their research findings are implemented to effect change.

A key branch of the AHRQ is the Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS). They work on safeguarding patient safety across various healthcare settings. Recently, they have been focusing on developing and introducing new procedures, performance metrics, tools, and practices to enhance patient safety. This renewed effort is particularly targeted at ambulatory care settings and long-term care facilities.
