Overview

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has announced an opportunity for organizations that are currently holding specific NIH grants, which are listed in the full Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), to apply for a change of recipient organization. This is applicable only if such a change is allowed under the program of the specific grant.

Applications for changing recipient organizations are regarded as prior approval requests, as stated in Section 8.1.2.7 of the NIH Grants Policy Statement. These applications will be directly forwarded to the Grants Management Specialist named in the existing award for consideration.

Despite the fact that requests for a change of recipient organization can be submitted via this FOA, there isn't an assurance that the award will be shifted to the new organization. Therefore, NIH encourages all applicants to discuss any potential requests with the awarding IC before submission. This announcement is titled as "Change of Recipient Organization (Type 7 Parent Clinical Trial Optional)".
