Overview

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) is offering Advanced Postdoctoral Career Transition Awards with the aim of promoting diversity in translational research related to Alzheimer's disease and Alzheimer's disease-related dementias (AD/ADRD). The grant is primarily aimed at early-career independent investigators from a variety of backgrounds.

The main objective of this grant initiative is to diversify the AD/ADRD translational research workforce. The initiative is dedicated to fostering talent that can contribute significantly to AD/ADRD research, particularly those that can lead to new treatment methods, early detection schemes, and effective disease management practices. Applicants will be trained and educated to effectively participate in or lead team-based, precision medicine approach to AD/ADRD.

Please note that this funding opportunity does not allow for clinical trials. Instead, it focuses on developing skills in data science, drug discovery, as well as their use in different aspects of research that may lead to new treatments and diagnoses.
