Overview

The Aerospace Vehicles Division, which is part of the Aerospace Systems Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory, is inviting applications for the Collaboration for Innovative Research on Aircraft Structure (CIRAS) Grant. The CIRAS Grant focuses primarily on funding research that aims to innovate and improve aircraft structural design, analysis, and experimentation.

The research solicitation outlined by the CIRAS grant targets four specific areas:

1. Exploration of new structural concepts that can contribute to reducing the weight of aircrafts and/or optimising their performance.

2. Devising methods for generating realistic load and environmental spectra, which can facilitate accurate prediction of aircraft performances under various circumstances.

3. Investigating and developing advanced methods for designing and analysing aircraft structures to enhance their integrity and durability.

4. Proposing advanced techniques that can aid in the experimental validation of structural models and simulations for aircraft.

The goal of the CIRAS Grant is to promote innovative research to improve and advance aircraft design and performance.
