Overview
These grants encourage studies that often test the feasibility of new research areas. These projects may carry substantial risk, but they also hold the potential for significant breakthroughs in neuroscience. They could lead to the development of new techniques, agents, methodologies, or models that can greatly benefit the neuroscience community.
While the program does accept applications that propose clinical trials, they prioritize those that suggest mechanistic clinical trials or studies. Alternately, they also consider basic experimental studies involving humans (BESH). Detailed information on the criteria for the types of clinical trials eligible for this funding program can be found under the 'Funding Opportunity Description'.
