Overview

This grant opportunity, titled "Development of Animal Models and Related Biological Materials for Research," does not allow for clinical trials. The aim of the grant is to encourage innovation in the research field, specifically focusing on the development, characterization, and enhancement of animal models, biological materials, and new technologies. This will help in a broader understanding of human health and diseases.

In addition to this, the grant also encourages research that aims to improvise the diagnosis process and disease control methods that otherwise pose a challenge to animal use in biomedical research.

Any projects proposed for the grant must be compatible with the trans-NIH mission of the Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP). They must have a wide range of applications across various National Institutes of Health (NIH) Institutes or Centers. The proposed projects should explore and evaluate diseases affecting multiple body systems.

Proposals that focus solely on a specific disease, a particular area of research, or are primarily relevant to one NIH Institute or Center will not be considered suitable for this grant opportunity.
