Overview

The NIOSH Support for Conferences and Scientific Meetings (R13) Grant, which is not applicable for clinical trials, is designed to fund high-quality scientific events. These could be conferences, workshops, seminars, symposiums, or other formally organized meetings, held either in person or virtually. The goal of these events should be to share information, explore, or clarify a specific topic or problem that pertains to worker safety and health.

The purpose of these funded events is to support the scientific mission of NIOSH and promote their program priorities in the public health sector. Applications should focus on advancing critical sectors of research in occupational safety and health, which are of particular significance to both NIOSH programs and the National Occupational Research Agenda.

However, applications intending solely to organize training events will not be entertained. The program is a critical component of NIOSH's overall mission. The conferences should facilitate the coordination, exchange, and dissemination of information or scrutiny of a defined subject or problem area within the occupational safety and health field.
