Overview
The partnering divisions are NSF's Division of Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental, and Transport Systems (CBET), the Division of Civil, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Innovation (CMMI), and the Division of Electrical, Communications and Cyber Systems (ECCS), and UKRI's Engineering, ICT and Manufacturing the Future Themes.
US and UK researchers can work together to submit a single proposal, which will only need to go through one review process. The research proposed must be at the intersection of CBET, CMMI, and/or ECCS and Engineering, ICT, and/or Manufacturing the Future Themes.
The researchers can elect either NSF or EPSRC to lead the review of their proposal; the other agency will respect the outcome of the review conducted by the chosen lead agency. For those wanting EPSRC to take the lead, instructions can be found on their website.
Prospective applications should review both NSF's divisions descriptions and EPSRC's website for information about eligible research areas. Budgets and durations should align with typical guidelines for the NSF programs or EPSRC Themes they are seeking funding from.
