Overview

The Center for Inherited Disease Research (CIDR) provides a special grant called High Throughput Sequencing and Genotyping Resource Access (X01). This grant does not allow clinical trials. The main aim of the CIDR grant is to support the discovery of genes or genetic changes that have significant impact on human health and disease. Additionally, it also enhances the quality of sample collections in biorepositories by supplementing them with genotype or next-gen sequence data.

CIDR takes care of specialized genomic activities which may not be effectively handled by individual investigator labs. It offers the most current platforms, services and statistical genetic support to help in this endeavor. This initiative is directed by the NHGRI and cuts across all NIH institutes. If you want to know more about the current services being offered, you can visit the CIDR website at http://www.cidr.jhmi.edu.
