Overview

The FY 2023 Disaster Supplemental grant is available, subject to funds, to aid communities and regions in creating and carrying out long-term economic recovery strategies. The supported strategies will stem from a variety of non-construction and construction projects which are suitable to address the economic challenges brought on by major disasters that were officially declared by the President. These specific disasters were covered under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act in areas affected by Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, wildfires, flooding and other natural disasters that occurred in the years 2021 and 2022.

On April 6, 2023, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) will transition to the Economic Development Grants Experience (EDGE) as the new platform for grant applications and management. This platform was developed with an improved user experience in mind, and it aims to streamline the application and grant management process. It provides increased transparency, higher data quality, and enhances efficiency throughout the entire grant lifecycle.

Starting April 6, 2023, applications for grants will only be accepted via EDGE. Grants.gov will cease to take applications after this date. Applications for the FY 2023 Disaster Supplemental grant can be submitted on the EDGE portal. Detailed instructions and further information about the application process can be found in the complete Notification of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).
