Overview

The purpose of the County Prosecutor Grant is to award funding to eligible offices of the county prosecutors with the highest crime count to reduce the average caseload per attorney.

To be eligible, a county must be one of the 15 counties with the highest violent crime rate per 1,000 residents as determined for each county using crime data from the Michigan Department of State Police.

Eligible project costs must support activities and expenditures that directly reduce the average caseload per attorney in the prosecutor's office.

Applications are emailed directly to qualifying counties by the end of March 2026. Applicants must submit a completed application and a proposed budget detailing how grant funds will be used to reduce the average caseload per attorney.
