Overview

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) offers the Community Pollution Prevention (P2) Grants Program to protect the environment and public health by managing air, water, land, and energy resources, with a focus on addressing climate change, diversity, equity, and inclusion. In fiscal year 2026, the program provides matching grants to support household hazardous waste (HHW) programs to expand access to convenient collection of hazardous waste materials. Eligible applicants include local units of government, tribal entities, and non-profit organizations. Eligible projects must focus on household hazardous waste collection and pollution prevention efforts to reduce toxic materials entering the environment. Applications must be completed and submitted through the online FY 2026 HHW Community P2 Grant RFP application portal before the stated response due date.
