Overview
The MDSVPTB believes that all children should be safe and secure as they grow into adulthood. Unfortunately, however, this is not the case for thousands of Michigan children. The MDHHS reports that in FY2012, there were 5,238 alleged cases of child sexual abuse with 1,088 identified victims.
The MDSVPTB is committed to supporting efforts that effectively, meaningfully, and sensitively intervene with suspected victims of child sexual abuse and their non-offending family members. By helping to fund comprehensive CAC services to this population, we hope to partner in the provision of multi-disciplinary, victim-centered, and offender focused care to children who are victims of sexual abuse and their families.
