Redevelopment Ready Communitiestechnical Assistance Match Funding

The Redevelopment Ready Communities Technical Assistance (RRC TA) Match Funding program provides financial support to Michigan communities actively engaged in the Redevelopment Ready Communities program to advance toward or maintain RRC designation. The funding is intended to help communities cover the costs of professional services needed to address unaligned criteria identified in their RRC Community Snapshot, including comprehensive community planning, downtown and corridor planning, capital improvements planning, zoning ordinance updates, economic development strategies, and community marketing and branding plans. All funded deliverables are expected to satisfy Certified expectations regardless of whether the community is seeking an Essentials or Certified designation. To apply, communities must have at least one year of formal RRC engagement, a completed baseline Community Snapshot, ongoing communication with MEDC Community Planners, and demonstrated progress on unaligned criteria over the preceding six months. Communities must contact their regional Community Planner to verify eligibility, after which completed request forms must be submitted at least two business days prior to Monday reviews; decisions are issued weekly on Mondays and awards are granted on a case-by-case basis depending on project competitiveness, local capacity, and match availability.
