Overview
The UDMD will partner with the MDHHS Oral Health section to provide education and resources.
Additional community partners will be onsite to provide other health education resources.
Attendees to need dental services will be able to make appointments for dental care at the UDMD clinic. This will include:
Routine dental cleanings and preventative care.
Dental restoration including fillings.
Complex dental care as needed.
These interventions will increase provider and patient knowledge leading to greater dental utilization and oral health literacy during pregnancy.
Additional resources onsite at POHD will provide other health-based education to enable the perinatal population to receive whole care. This will create a dynamic project that will increase dental care and access in the perinatal population in Detroit while also increasing access to additional public health services
