Overview

This grant program merges medical and structural interventions to improve maternal-child health outcomes by decreasing rates of preeclampsia and preterm birth, the leading causes of maternal and infant mortality. This is accomplished through dissemination and implementation of evidence-based best practices, community engagement, educational programming, research and advocacy measures. The award expands the SOS Maternity Interventions to at least three rural locations throughout the state.
