Overview

The School Resource Officer Grant Program, administered by the Michigan State Police Office of School Safety, provides funding to support the placement of School Resource Officers (SROs) in K-12 schools. The goal is to foster communication with law enforcement, promote strategies to encourage safe and secure learning environments, reduce threats, build trust, and improve the quality of life for students in Michigan. Grantees are required to complete National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) Basic SRO Course or Teaching, Educating, and Mentoring (T.E.A.M.) School Liaison Program training. Awardees must submit Financial Status Reports (FSR) and Performance Status Reports (PSR) and maintain a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or Agreement.
