Overview

The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) Energy Audit and Renewable Energy Development Assistance (EA/REDA) Grants provide financial assistance to eligible entities to establish programs that assist agricultural producers and rural small businesses. The program aims to help these beneficiaries evaluate their energy efficiency and renewable energy potential through energy audits and renewable energy development assistance.

Eligible applicants include State and local governments, Federally recognized Tribes, Land-grant colleges or universities or other institutions of higher education, Rural electric cooperatives, and Public power entities. Applicants must submit a complete application package to the USDA Rural Development State Office. The program requires a cost share of at least 25% of the project cost.
