Rural Energy for America Program Energy Audit & Renewable Energy Development Assistance Grants in Michigan

The goal of this program is to assist rural small businesses and agricultural producers by conducting and promoting energy audits and providing Renewable Energy Development Assistance (REDA). Eligible applicants include state and local governments, federally-recognized tribes, institutions of higher education, rural electric cooperatives, public power entities, and Resource Conservation & Development Councils. The assistance must be provided to agricultural producers and rural small businesses (which must be located in eligible rural areas). Eligible project costs include salaries, travel expenses, office supplies, and administrative expenses up to 5 percent of the grant. Funds may not be used for construction, equipment purchase/lease, or lobbying. Applications are accepted year-round at the local office, but applicants are limited to one energy audit and one REDA application per fiscal year.
