Micorps' Volunteer Stream Cleanup Program (VSCP)

The MiCorps Volunteer Stream Cleanup Program (VSCP) provides grant funding to local units of government to host volunteer cleanups aimed at removing human trash, such as tires, plastics, and other debris, from local streams and rivers. The program is supported by revenues generated from Michigan's specialty water quality protection license plates. Eligible applicants are local governments, including counties, townships, villages, and cities. Grant funds primarily support staff time to organize cleanup activities, necessary cleanup equipment, trash disposal fees, and modest volunteer appreciation supplies such as food and t-shirts. Applicants must download the Request for Proposals, complete required templates including a project fact sheet and budget, and submit their proposal online through the MiCorps portal by the posted deadline.
