Michigan State Police AAM Statewide Mobility Challenges

The Michigan State Police aim to implement an advanced drone detection system to address the growing threat of unauthorized drones across critical sectors. This system will identify, locate, and catalog drone activity in real-time, supporting security efforts at prisons, public events, and training areas while avoiding jamming due to regulatory restrictions. A centralized analysis hub will enable statewide monitoring, pattern recognition, and collaboration with FAA partners for effective enforcement and airspace safety. Applicants must work with the relevant state agency (MSP), propose a project that solves identified state department challenges, and provide matching funds. Applicants are not required to be Michigan-based, but their application must include a clear plan for growth within the state of Michigan. Proposals showcasing a commitment to building and expanding drone production within Michigan will receive priority consideration. The proposed projects must demonstrate Technology Focus (leverage AAM technologies), Interoperability (integrate seamlessly with existing technologies), Problem Solving (directly address the MSP challenge), Michigan Benefit (provide clear and direct economic benefits to the State of Michigan), Deployment Plan (detailed plan outlining locations, timeline, infrastructure), Matching Funds Commitment, and Scalability and Sustainability. Applications open September 29, 2025, and close November 18, 2025. Information sessions are on October 7 and 9, 2025. Companies will be notified on December 22, 2025. Proposals will be evaluated and scored by a review committee on a best value basis using specific criteria.
