Additional eligibility: Applications must include at least one organization devoted to history; Round 1 awardees may apply to Round 2 only for different projects. Project eligibility: A wide range of activities are allowable, including educational programming, exhibits, collections management, interpretive signage, and capital improvements that help tell Michigan stories. Application process: Round 2 opened Nov. 1, 2025 and closes Jan. 15, 2026; applicants submit an online application with a project description, timeline, communications plan, and budget. The program provides a Grant Booklet and FAQ, tiered application forms, and a budget worksheet on the grant portal, plus office hours and webinars.
