Overview

Purpose: EGLEs Nonpoint Source Program invites proposals to support watershed-based organizations with general organizational administration, capacity building, and conservation and educational activities that protect and improve water quality statewide. Project eligibility: Funding may support administration and capacity building for watershed organizations; staff training; purchase of equipment and supplies; public outreach and educational materials; development of proposals or elements for other water quality funding opportunities; planning leverage; feasibility and adoption of local water quality ordinances; and, where proposed, design and implementation of BMPs consistent with NPS Program criteria, plus environmental and social monitoring with approved QAPPs. Additional applicant criteria: Applicants must be in good standing with EGLE; have no revoked/terminated EGLE grants within the past 24 months; not appear on the federal debarment/suspension list; certify they and contractors are not Iran-based businesses; and be able to enter into an EGLE grant contract (generally a 12-month period beginning summer 2026). SIGMA vendor registration is required. Application process: Applicants must submit a complete package by email to EGLE-NPSGrants@Michigan.gov including the EQP9385 cover sheet, a project description, a two-page work plan, a one-page timetable, the EQP9290 budget form, a project area map, and any allowed attachments (e.g., photos, EJ statement). Proposals are due by 11:59 PM on 12/10/2025. Applications will be evaluated on organizational capability, resource leveraging, expected contribution to future water quality improvement/protection, and anticipated benefits relative to cost. A recorded webinar (10/28/2025) provides program and application guidance. Awards are expected spring 2026 and projects generally have a 12-month timeframe. No match is required.
