Overview
Purpose: Fund new projects that improve equitable access to mobility and solve existing mobility gaps, improving access to jobs, education, health care, nutritious food, and social opportunities, and increasing interoperability of transit services. Eligibility: For the Solving Mobility Gaps track, any entity eligible to receive state funding may apply, including public or private transportation providers, human service agencies, and technology providers. Proposals must be coordinated with local public transit providers, avoid duplicating existing service, consider equity and accessibility, be easy to use, and align with Michigan Mobility 2045, the Transit Strategy, the MI Future Mobility Plan, the MI Healthy Climate Plan, the Poverty Task Force, and the Social Determinants of Health Strategy. Project eligibility: Projects may include start-up capital and operations for new services or mobility technologies that address defined mobility gaps, with a three-year demonstration period and plans for ongoing funding via the Specialized Services Program, Local Bus Operating assistance, or local sources. Application process: Submit electronically via the application portal by 11:59 PM EDT on 04/14/2024. Applications should include applicant and partner information, letters of commitment, a description of the mobility gap and proposed service, coordination approach, equity and accessibility approach, implementation and sustainability plans, evaluation metrics, and detailed budgets. Proposals are evaluated on best value using criteria such as understanding of the gap, partnerships, alignment with state goals, team capacity, evaluation plan, sustainability, interoperability, overall quality, and cost.
