Overview

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Energy Unit is offering grants for organizations to improve energy knowledge and awareness statewide. Projects will support Governor Gretchen Whitmer's climate change priorities through measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in line with the MI Healthy Climate Plan. Impacted facilities must be occupied and have long range plans of continued use. All eligible applicants must provide a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number from the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) website. Eligible projects must involve/address energy management, energy efficiency, electrification, and/or renewable energy. Potential projects may include energy-related research, technical assistance, events, trainings, workshops, seminars, competitions, small technology demonstrations, micro events, and other activities that target diverse stakeholder groups. Ineligible projects include those deemed illegal, scientifically unsound, not conducted in Michigan, involving non-commercially available equipment, or lacking significant onsite energy waste reduction/renewable energy benefits. Applicants must submit a complete response to the RFP using the Online Application, addressing Program Objectives, Priorities, and Tasks. The application must include an Approved Budget Form, Certificate of Indirect Costs (if applicable), and other required forms like SHPO Section 106 Review Form and NEPA Form if applicable. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until April 30, 2025, or until funding is expended.
