Certified Local Government (CLG) Grants

The Certified Local Government (CLG) Grants program provides funding to support local preservation planning, documentation, education, and development ('bricks and mortar') projects. Only active CLGs in good standing with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) are eligible to apply. Non-profits and public entities within a CLG community can partner with the CLG on an application. Eligible projects fall into two categories: (1) Pre-development and development projects for properties owned by the CLG, a non-profit, or other public entity that are National Register listed or eligible; and (2) Planning, documentation, and education projects such as surveys, archaeological studies, National Register nominations, design guidelines, and educational activities. Applicants must submit the required application forms, signature pages, and supporting documents such as fiscal management templates and resolutions.
