Overview

Purpose: Establish a centralized pipeline of market-led AAM projects that validate technical and economic feasibility, generate data to inform state policy, and accelerate Michigan's AAM readiness and growth. Eligibility criteria: Projects must demonstrate feasibility (regulatory and technical readiness and sustainable business model), impact (emissions reduction, measurable community benefits, supply chain efficiency and resilience, and public-private partnership potential), and scalability (demonstrated demand and path to scale). Project eligibility: Example use cases include infrastructure inspection, medical and healthcare delivery, movement of critical goods, defense and dual-use applications, sustainable regional aviation, planning and development of AAM infrastructure (drone ports, vertiports, charging), and AAM/drone training. Application process: The fund issued a call for market-led proposals and accepted applications on a rolling basis until funds were depleted; proposals were reviewed by a cross-agency committee and could qualify for direct funding from one or more state entities or inform future competitive solicitations. All application materials may be subject to FOIA. As of now, the application is closed.
