Overview
The Michigan Craft Beverage Council (MCBC) Education Grants fund small, targeted education projects that strengthen Michigan's craft beverage industry and its Michigan-grown agricultural inputs. Grants (up to $5,000 each) support activities such as industry trainings, conferences, workshops, field practicums, mentorship and workforce development initiatives, consumer education, educational publications, extension programming, and development of training modules. Eligible applicants include organizations capable of delivering education that benefits Michigan's craft beverage sector, such as trade associations, colleges and universities, nonprofits, producer groups, and small businesses. Projects must clearly benefit Michigan stakeholders and align with MCBC goals; proposals are reviewed by a Joint Evaluation Committee. Application process: follow the Education Grant Guidelines linked on the program page and submit the proposal by email to MDARD-CraftBev@Michigan.gov; for the FY26 cycle, proposals were due by 3:00 p.m. EST on 11/10/2025, reviewed in December, with award announcements anticipated in January 2026.
