Livestock and Commodity Exposition Grants

The Livestock and Commodity Exposition Competitive Grant program, offered by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), provides funding to associations and organized events hosting fairs or expositions that showcase livestock and agricultural commodities.

Eligible applicants are associations or organized bodies hosting county fairs, regional fairs, local fairs, festivals, or livestock and commodity expositions in Michigan.

Eligible projects must involve hosting competitive fairs or expositions that feature livestock and commodities, promoting agricultural awareness and exhibition in Michigan.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the MiAgGrants system via a Citizen or Business Account registered in MiLogin. Proposals for the FY 2026 cycle were due by 5:00 p.m. EST on March 18, 2026, with award announcements scheduled for early May 2026. The project period runs from May 2026 through August 31, 2027, with interim reports due September 15, 2026, and final reports due September 15, 2027.
