County Fairs Capital Improvement Grants

The County Fairs Capital Improvement Grants program is offered by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) to support county fairs across the state. The goal of the program is to assist in the promotion of building improvements or other capital improvements on county fairgrounds within Michigan.

Eligible applicants include any county, city, township, village, or public body. Facilities to be improved must be used for fair purposes and owned by the fair association or political subdivision.

Eligible projects include building improvements and capital improvements. Building improvements cover costs related to making changes to improve buildings used for fair purposes and extending their useful life. Capital improvements cover costs related to structural improvements, renovations, or other changes to capital assets that increase their useful life, enhance usefulness or productivity, or add to their value.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the State of Michigan's MiAgGrants system via MiLogin under a Citizen or Business Account. Organizations must first be registered in the system by an Authorized Official prior to submitting grant proposals.
