Overview

The Transportation Economic Development Fund (TEDF) Category F program provides funding for transportation projects that improve access to the state all-season system and improve safety and all-season capabilities on routes having high commercial traffic. The goal is to provide system continuity with the secondary all-season road system.

Eligible projects must be for improvements to all-season federal aid-eligible roads or to bring federal aid-eligible roads up to all-season standards. Projects must be located entirely within the federal Adjusted Census Urban Boundary (ACUB) of an urban area with a population of 5,000 or greater. Eligible costs include construction (3R or 4R); engineering and ROW are not eligible.

Applications are submitted electronically through the MDOT Grant System (MGS). The application process involves submitting a complete application including maps, drawings, engineer's estimates, and photos. Projects are evaluated based on all-season system continuity, commercial traffic flow, road condition, and safety.
