Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program (MISGP)

The Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program (MISGP) is designed to address strategic issues of prevention, detection, eradication, and control for both terrestrial and aquatic invasive species in Michigan. The main goals of the program are to prevent new invasive species introductions, strengthen the statewide invasive species early detection and response network, limit the dispersal of recently confirmed invasive species, and manage and control widespread, established invasive species.

Eligible applicants include local, state, federal, or tribal units of government, non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, and universities. Projects must be conducted on Michigan land or water. Projects that focus on routine management of one water body or site, and/or the use of common treatment methods for widespread invasive species, typically are not competitive unless the proposal is clearly transferrable, scalable, or relevant to a larger region or the state.

Applications must be submitted through the MiGrants online system by the Authorized Official of the applicant organization. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered for funding.
