Overview

The Clean Fuel and Charging Infrastructure Program, funded by a $30 million appropriation, provides grants to deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and hydrogen fueling infrastructure in Michigan. At least 40% of funds are allocated to disadvantaged communities. The program currently operates through two Request for Proposals (RFPs): RFP #1 focuses on Multifamily Use Cases for non-public Level 2 chargers at existing or new multifamily developments. RFP #2 focuses on Public Charging Use Cases for publicly available Level 2 and/or DC fast charging stations to address infrastructure gaps. Applications are accepted and processed on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted. Projects must be completed and funds expended by September 30, 2027.
