Overview
The National Institute on Aging (NIA) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to invite applications to expand the skilled Alzheimer's disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD) clinical trial workforce by developing creative and innovative short courses to train the next generation of AD/ADRD clinical trialists in state-of-the-art clinical research skills. This field covers AD, frontotemporal dementia (FTD), Lewy body dementia (LBD), vascular contributions to cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID), and mixed dementia, and the development of interventions to treat and prevent dementia, provide dementia care, and promote the health and well-being of dementia caregivers. Applications are not being solicited at this time. Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. This NOFO intends to utilize the R25 activity code. Investigators with expertise and insights into this area of aging research are encouraged to begin to consider applying for this new NOFO.
